Default Having a problem...3.9 vs other tranny

I traveled to Atlanta from Augusta, GA today to buy a trans for my 1999 Dakota 3.9 and was assured that it was the one.....by the seller. I learned in the Army and have since forgotten, "Check and Re-Check, don't assume a damn thing." When you ASSUME you make an *** U ME.

The trans mfg code on the tranny I bought is: 52119816AA which says V8 if I am not mistaken.

Does anyone know if this 1999 Durange Trans with Code 52119816AA and TPKTK079991922 on the sticker, will fork behind my 3.9?

Tks

Sorry, that is a 44re trans that you bought. Basically a beefed up 42re, so I was told...

Default What?

Beefed up 42RE Does that mean it is a beefed up or better transmission then the one that I have in my 99 Dakota and it will work?

Took it to my trasmission guy and he two said it would work but told me that I would have to change my torque convertors and keep the one in the 3.9 on the replacement trans becuse the stall points are different in the smaller vs bigger displacement motor.

Tks for you help.
