Default brake problem

i have a 99 dak and was doing the pads and rotors the other day and noticed the previous owner had stripped out the threads on the bolts that hold the caliper on. theres not much meat left on them so i was wondering if anyone knows if i can just use a thicker bolt and re thread it. the reason i ask is because they are the wierd guides with the hex head on them. any help would be appreciated thanks for your time

if they are the same as my 01, auto part stores sell an oversized self threading bolt. i used one but it only lasted one brake job. the next time i had to replace the spindle. this is a problem i hear about alot. when you say "hex head" do you mean allen wrench head? if so that is stock.
