Stalling/Dying possible trans problem
I own a 2000 dodge dakota 4x4 V8. It has over 218k miles on it but it "seemed" as if it had been taken care of.
Ive driven it for about a month now and tonight just hours ago I was leaving work and I could smell fuel and my car was stalling out and seemed weak. As long as I kept on the accelerator it was fine. There is a noise coming out of it as well like a rattle, coming from the center area of the truck. It isnt an engine noise either a transmission or exhaust. I also had picked up some food for everyone at work just before I left and it seemed okay maybe a small problem but it didnt stall or anything on me and I got back fine.
I was finally able to get it home after literally rolling into my driveway. Im not sure what caused this problem. Im not that great with cars but with direction I can usually fix most anything. It won't start now without some effort and the check engine light is on now. I also started it earlier after getting home and let it run for a minute and the oil pressure suddenly dropped to 0. I know there's oil in there I checked it myself and had changed the oil maybe a week ago Edit: Upon further investigation I found a large puddle of oil on the passenger side of my vehicle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I hope it isnt anything major because I cant afford this again...I swear I can't get a good vehicle for the life of me...maybe Im cursed.

at first it sounded like the same problem that i had, when driving i would hear that rattle and it would put out as much power, turned out my cat had fallen apart inside. but did that puddle form before or after you let it run for a bit?
