Default Vibration on acceleration

Hi Guys,

New to the site, just trying to get some advice. Just picked up a 2004 Dakota Quad Cab V6 2WD Manual trans.. Engine sounds great and runs smooth and quiet but when accelerating there seems to be some vibration coming from beneath the truck. Its not bad enough for passengers to really notice but the driver can really feel it through the gas pedal and gear shifter. It is only present when accelerating and doesn't seem too bad in the first few minutes of driving, but then it starts and continues through each gear (although for some reason it doesn't seem as bad in fourth gear). Also when driving at highway speed in 5th gear there does not seem to be much power at all, just that vibration when pressing on the gas pedal. Although the acceleration is decent in the first few gears it seems like the V6 should have more power, I assume its all the same issue. Any ideas? I just want to have a better idea before talking to the mechanic. Thanks guys.

Have them check the u-joints and pinion flange for looseness or binding. A bad trans mount could also cause this problem.
