Default Blacked out taillights, any way to make brighter

I've had them on for about 3 months and like them, but I'm always getting told that my brake lights are out. So I put new Sylvania bulbs in them but still being stopped and told how dangerous it is by motorist. I heard about LED ligths, but also heard that there no brighter than normal bulbs, any ideas?

Uh sorry dude, but it doesn't matter if it is day or night. If someone can't see your brake lights, thats a bad thing. Either way, if people don't see them, they won't stop. And I'm willing to bet you're at fault if they hit you and say they couldn't see your lights.

I like the look of tinted tails, don't get me wrong, but you can go too far. If people can't see them, you are putting you self, and others, in danger. Its stupid to get in an accident because you wanted your brake lights to look cool.

Not trying to sound like some old pissy guy, but it's kinda common sense really.
