I bought, a JL Audio Stealthbox (one of the old school ones). Its designed to fit under the seat of my '99 Crew Cab. I bought it without the speaker. It has a hole for an 8" speaker, but I dont know what speaker came with the box. I dont plan on putting the original speaker in it, but I need to find the spec so I know what the max mounting depth is. Anyone know?

 

It is more than likely a shallow mount sub, which typically has a top mounting depth of about 2.5"

 

I think the box came with a W3, but I am not sure. Hoping someone who really knows will chime in. The new W1's have a mount depth of 3-13/16" I think.

 

I think the Stealthbox from back then had a 4-ohm W0 series woofer but I am not sure about it either. You could call JL's Technical Support Department at (954) 443-1100 or shoot them an email at technical@jlaudio.com and they could tell you for sure. They can also tell you what subs you could use in place of the original sub to get the best sound out of the Stealthbox. JL's tech support guys are very good, really cool and they will be glad to help you. They are open 9 to 5:30 Mon-Fri.

The W0 has a deeper mounting depth than the new W1's. Kicker makes a shallow mount 8" sub, which is what I will prob put in the box unless JL Audio tech support has some better suggestions.
