Would this mod be a good idea for towing? I am looking for a little bit more power pulling my RV.

so this is what i found out. wide opon throttle(wot) is the only time i feel the differance. it does shift alot harder than before, it kinda puts you in your seat for a second when it hits the next gear. kinda fun! off the line it did nothing for me. AWD and a quad cab is alot to get moving. on my test run i hammered on it and had to slow down quickly, i blew the rear brake line where it runs under the cab. damn the luck. now i have a weekend project.

Hi Thunder,
Just my thoughts but I wouldn't bother spending all that cash on getting the shift kit fitted if you can't do it yourself. I'm not commenting on your ability, its just I fitted it myself and to be honest the results were disappointing, certainly not worth paying someone to fit it, despite the low cost of the kit. It sounds like your TCM mod does a lot more, I'm off to do it now!

On a different topic, did you fit the 06 Manifold AFTER the HO cams? Just want to know how much of a difference it made by its self. I'm in FL next month and want to get one, will need a big suitcase though!

Just read through the early posts in this thread and watched Thunder's "after" vid and it confirms something I'd noticed occasionally but thought I might be imagining!

I'd always felt that if I didn't put my foot compleatly to the floor when pulling away, it would feel quicker than flooring it. I'm guessing 95% throttle put more torque to the the wheels than WOT with the Torque limiter kicking in. 9 times out of 10 I forget this and just floor it but the few times I hit the sweet spot, it really flies.

Looking forward to getting 10 out of 10!

You know I've noticed with my truck sometimes it throws you in the seat.. some times not..

My Ford never had this problem.. if I stomped the gas.. it flat up went.. (but that was a carb)

I'm wondering maybe if its something to do with the injectors are not able to push enough fuel in needed for WOT.. I was reading the stocks are 1 port.. and some of the AM parts are 4 ports.. with same port openings.. ? Fuel rail pressure drop?

Interesting to figure out.. as if it was something along those lines would really make a huge difference at all throttle positions.

Or maybee its just my truck... I do have this lope bullsh!t when your barly rolling and feels like a miss.. running like it has some cam.. and sounds like one of those HO fuelers.. brom.. brom brom brom brom..
