Default 2003 dakota ground wire

I have a 2003 QC 4.7. I had to have the a/c compressor replaced while I was on vacation. On my drive home from vac, I noticed a sound coming from the engine compartment, it sounded like metal hitting against metal or an electrical arcing sound. When I got home I noticed that there is a ground wire off. It is on the passenger side on the fire wall right by the dryer canister for the a/c. It is a short black ground, and I cannot figure out where it goes. I don't know if this is the source of my problem or not, but if someone has this same ground I would love to know where it is supposed to go. Thanks for any help!

a couple of grounds in that location, one attaches to the a/c canister, and the other attaches to the head, there is a bolt on the back of the head.

Actually i just notched you said 4.7, if they have simular grounds to the 5.9, 5.2, and 3.9. i know there should be a ground on the head though.

Try to google photos of 4.7 engine bays and see if you can find it...
