If I want smooth riding shocks does that mean its just gonna bounce all the time? I have the 20.00 each gabriels and they just seem to suck. ANy suggestions on shocks under 30 each? 2k dakota 2wd.

I don't know if it's possible to get a good smooth riding shock for under 30 bucks. I had a set of Monroe Sensa Tracs on my Dakota, they were really bad. They cost about $35.00 each at Advance. I put about 30,000 miles on them and then put on a set of Monroe Reflex and they are 200 times better. They make the truck ride smooth and firm but still handle like a pickup truck should. They cost about $45.00 each for the fronts and $50.00 each for the rears, at Napa. I have a 2 wheel drive Dakota, 4 wheel drive might cost more. Reflex work great for me though.

+1 on the Reflex shocks. I used them on the front and they were a ton better. Comes with a lifetime garuntee as well. I'm going to get them for the rear as well here soon.

They were $54 a piece for the fornt.

After looking at this post late last night, I went to the Monroe site to double ck pn's for an 02 2WD CC Dakota. Then went to Amazon and found they'd actually marked the front Reflex(911137) down from $25! Alas, today it's now back up to $33.xx each- but I have 2 fronts on the way at a real bargain price- less than $20 each. So if you order online- before you place your final order, ck Amazon. They tend to go up & down- but if you can catch 'em when they're on the downcycle, might save a bunch!

Hi Jimmy- I post as S. H. over on BITOG.
