No videos of my setup. I don't have the items to take a quality sound recording. As for size, I was assured by my custom exhaust guy that the dual cat 2.5" single in single out muffler is more than adequate on our trucks. That is why I wouldn't suggest going any larger.
Ok that's makes sense. Would I notice any gains if I were to add a magnaflow muffler? Also, would I notice any other gains if I were to re-do the 2.5 inch pipes with 2.5 pipes that have less curves and turns? Basically having the pipes as straight as possible.
ive got a 2.5 before the cat, then going to 3.5 after muffler.
But did you see how many horse power you gained by doing that? Did you notice the HP gains for a coffee can exhaust are actually at the top end & not off idle or even in the middle of the power curve?
What I'm saying is that for the $$ you spend to gain HP you should spend it to gain HP in the area you use it most.
These are trucks not dragsters - if you want a sports car go get one.
If you want more pulling power or torque you don't need a huge exhaust.
I'm looking at getting a flowmaster super 44. What kind of muffler do you guys have on your v6? Anyone have a sound byte or video of how your muffler sounds?
