Welcome to the forum. Have you checked the wheel bearings?

Welcome to the site. THe sway bar bushings seem to be the 'clucking' culprit in the Durangos. I will move this thread to the second generastion Dakota section,

My Dakota does it too, but mine is a 2 wheel drive with 133,000 miles on it. I replaced upper and lower ball joints, sway bar bushings, sway bar end links and inner tie rods and it still has the clunk. Outer tie rods have about 30,000 miles on them. Clunk happens when backing up and turning and sometimes when going forward and I hit a bump at a slow speed. I also have new brake rotors, calipers and pads in the front. I don't think my hub/wheel bearings are bad, there is no play or movement at all in the wheels and no noise from the hubs either.

If you or anyone else figures it out or has any suggestions, I am all ears.

Jimmy
