Flushing the cooling system on 2000
I bought a flush kit for my 2000 Dakota 4.7L. I am having trouble determining the heater inlet hose so I can tee into it. Can anyone help me with that? Thanks....
Is it just me, or does it seem hinky cutting into the heater hose? I recently bought a flushing kit as well, but I just think Ill do it the old fashion way. Im sorry I couldnt answer your question as to which one it was. You may be able to tell from touching and squeezing them while your truck is running. Feel for pressure and/or temperature differences. Please correct me if Im wrong, but the hotter one should be the one going TO the heater core whereas the other one should be a tad cooler. Is it possible to discern a difference?
I have been wanting to do this as well so please keep us updated.

Ok. I figured it out. It's the top hose going into the firewall.
Both hoses come up and over the intake. Both ends are rubber hoses with an aluminum pipe going over the intake. I disconnected both hoses from the aluminum pipe and started the truck. I then waited for the thermostat to open. I was kinda nervous about this, but the water started trickling out slowly. I guess the thermostat opens gradually. Anyway i put my tee in that hose and did my flush and everythings working great.
