Default Clutch/ masetr/slave problem

Hey there i just replace the clutch on my 99 dakota 2.5L. I also replaced the master cylinder and slave cylinder. The slave was an upgrade model, it came with a bleeder screw. Here's the problem...... I can't get the pedal to build up any pressure. Everything is filled with fluid and when I open the bleeder screw fluid oozes out, but I can't seem to get any pressure to build up, is there a trick to bleeding this system, it seems to me that there should be some sort of pressure right off the bat. Please help I'm at wits end thanks in advance

Did you bench bleed the MC before installing it? My recommendation is to purchase a power/pressure bleeder.

Thanks for the reply

No we did'nt do that, are you suggesting that there is air in the MC. Would that still be the case if the slave is getting fluid??

Default Installed?

Are you sure the slave cylinder rod is pushing against the throwout bearing fork? If it is not pushing against anything it will pop out and not build any pressure. When it came it should of had a white plastic strap to hold the rod in before the first use so that does get over extended and it was supposed to be installed with that strap still in place.
