Default Body Lift question

I know this question comes up, I have a 2002 dakota 4x4 regular cab with the 5 speed manual 3.9. I want to put a small lift with a little bigger tires, nothing too crazy to the point where I would need to upgrade the brakes or anything. I was wondering about a 3 inch body lift? Also roughly how much it would cost, i would be able to do the work myself with a couple buddies. thanks for any information.

if you want to fit 33s with little to no rubbing to the 3 inch body. If you want to do 31s or maybe 32s you can just crank your torsion bars and (optional)add 2inch block in the rear.

Good luck!

Stock 4x4 will fit 31's. My truck does.
Might clear 32's with no cranked tb but if you do crank it 32's will fit 33's will fit with a cranked tb and 2in body lift. Depending on who makes the body lift and if it comes with bumper brackets your looking about 100-300.00

ok, so does anyone have any information on which 3 inch body lift will be best? It sounds like I'm leaning more towards the 3 inch body lift. itd be nice if it came with the bumper brackets, but if not I think i could make them. So from what I understand if I was to put the 3 inch body lift, I would be able to fit 33x12.50's with 16 inch wheels. My truck is white and has the gray metallic stock fender flares, so i dont know if i should replace the wheels or just use the stock 16 inch wheels. theyre in great shape, no pits or rust.

also, i dont know if this changes anything. but i have a grille gaurd with 2 100 watt lights on it, i figured i could just prolly make brackets to move it up with the bumper. but i have dual stainless steel exhaust tips straight out the rear of the truck. how would this look if i did the 3 inch body lift? would it be better to do a 2 inch lift?

Well your going to have to make brackets for your guard and for your exhaust they wont be as close to your bumper. you can just add a hanger to your exhaust and pull it up and mount it on the frame.

alright, thank you. i was wondering how i would get the tips closer to the bumper. if i did the 3 inch body lift, what tire size would be best? ive heard people say the 33x12.50's may rub a very small amount or they may not.
