Are you just replacing it for the sake of replacing it?
or is there more specific a reason for it.

I'm not sure if anyone has specifically replaced a 4.7 with a newer 4.7

I have put head gaskets in it once already once and they are out again and now it sounds like there is a noise in the lower end of the engine. I had read some where that the newer 4.7 are the better version I don't know if it is true or not but I found a good deal on an engine and tranny combo out a wrecked 2008 vehicle with around 50000 on it.

The newer HO 4.7s are awesome. But i think they only put them in R/Ts not sure tho!

I think someone said they get about 30-40 more HP that the older 4.7, oh and they also make a cam for a newer 4.7 as well!
