I would like to get a nice powder coat on my diff cover, but I don't have a spare oven or the room for one (I live in an apartment) to cure it in. I bought the wireless powder coating gun, but I can only do objects small enough to fit in a toaster oven...

While you're at it, go ahead and paint the exhaust pipes with some VHT exhaust paint.

Mine is bad cause I get side tracked to much lol The power was out for like 20min so I ended up cleaning the carb on the generator and tried to get it started then I remembered I had to clean out the pool pump and did that too lol

Yes I sanded down took me 3 hrs just to do the driver side cause it was bad then to top it all off I added 3 coats of paint.

no drain plug. easiest way is to take off the cover. i just used a rag to clean up the rest of the oil on the bottom of the diff, not sure about spraying brake cleaner though....

We have 2 garages but the other one is strictly used for parking vehicles at night has a few other things but not ment for making a mess of plus my tools are in my garage lol
When you do your diff change take all your bolts out execpt 1 at the top(just loosen it a bit) then pry at the bottom of the cover and let the oil drain out of it. Once done take the cover off and spray brake cleaner in the diff and wipe it out(I got 2 cans from napa for 5.00) but spray it out real good and wipe out as much as you can. Side note for you if you have any cuts on your hands try not to get brake cleaner on them if you do it will burn like a sob make sure to wash out afterwards. If your wondering brake cleaner is safe for your rear end wont hurt anything just helps to get the oill off of everything makes a big difference

Before brake cleaner see how its all black and nasty.
