Tires
I cant realy afford the top of the line tires so im gonna be buying some from a companey call tirewright. they sell retreaded off road tires. what is the biggest tire you guys think i can go without raising my 2003 dodge dakota sxt. i was looking at 265/75/16 but do you think i can go a little bigger at all. i am willing to go any size even if i have to cvut my fender flares. just let me know what you guys think.
DO NOT BUY RETREADED TIRES ESPECIALLY FROM TIREWRIGHT/TREADWRIGHT.
I purchased a set of 285/75/16 in the warden A/T tread a few months back just to test them out and see how decent they could be considering they were only 100 per tire. Worst decision I made all year.
-The casings they gave me were over 5 years old
-Everyone says you can't tell they are retreads, well when you get them you can completely see on the sidewall where the cap they re-glued on is set to.
-When they were mounted on my rims and pressurized up to 40psi the cap actually started coming off of the sidewall where the glue was. There was a real hole on the casing directly underneath the thin cap.
With shipping I spent a total of $530 for tires (without mount and balance). After sending them back and getting a full refund wasting 2 weeks worth of my time, I went out and got a brand new set of toyo open country all terrains for $526 mounted and balanced. Don't cheap out when going for tires. If you were to run the retreaded tires and you're driving down the highway at 70+ mph and the cap starts coming off you're gonna be wishing you spent the extra money on a real tire.

If your truck was a woods beater I would say yeah they will work out but for dd do not get them. Guys on jeep forum say they are great if you want a cheap tire for your woods vehicle but not on road use. Go on to ebay, craigslist and look for used tires im sure you can find stock tires for your truck. I can get bfg at's for 575.00 and I can mount and balance them for free.
x2. if they blow out on the highway its really not worth the money saved.
i think bfg's normaly go for $800+. if you want a more reasonable price check out the brand general. i just got a set of 31x10.5 at tire from them for $500.

I found them online for 160 a piece and free shipping!! I have other connections and can get them for 140 a piece then at votech I can get them mounted and balanced for free so its a really good deal for me
I paid like $125 each for my Firestone Destination A/T's, 265/70-16. Completely worth it. The AT2's are right up there as well.
