Default Power Programmers

Has anyone used the Hypertech Max Energy Econ, or any other programmer? My 99 has the 5.2 Magnum, and I am running the K&N Fitpack, a 3 inch cat, and a 3 inch Flowmaster exhaust. It's working very well, I am averaging 16.5 mpg, and my commute includes a small mountain pass. I am wondering if a programmer will get me more mpg due to optimization, or if I am better to spend that money on gas.

I think it maybe too, after all I am doing better than they truck is rated at. I put that down to better airflow into and out of the motor. I am just curious as to whether or not a programer could add a little more to the mix, and I am wary about taking the manufacturer's claims at face value.

my bud had hypertech on his f-150 and hated it. I'd go with a superchips prog.

You might gain a .5 to maybe 1 mpg. If you do go with a programer go with superchips they get good reviews and If you dont like it I think they have a 30 day return if your not 100% satified
