Default P/S pump is officially gone

Well, my power steering pump is officially gone. I have no power steering at idle, and barely enough to drive with at driving speed. It's been whining for at least 8 months if not a year.

Reading my Haynes, it doesn't seem too difficult. Just 2 or 3 bolts, swap pulley and resoviour, put back on, and bleed.

I think I read that it's easier to bleed by turning the wheel left and right with the engine off, then do the power bleed?

Orielly's only lists reman units for $55, AZ shows for $38 and $45. I can't see those lasting long. Anything better?

Just replaced mine about a month ago.....dont make the same mistake i did...just bought a PS Pump from Napa...never actually looked at it..it was JUST the pump...w/ no resevoir.

Mine has over 150k miles..and the hoses were the worst part so i was repleacing them anyway....but you might want to go ahead and replace them as well while you have the pump out...(they were a real BIT-Ch to take out. The nuts wouldnt move without vice grips...
other than that was easy.
Good luck

It took me about 5 hours total but i had a real issues getting the old hoses off.

If i was just doing the pump it would have taken me like 3 1/2 hours max. I had never done a pully swap and the tool i got from Advance auto was not the most user friendly thing so that took me a bit to figure out as well.
