Default Trailer wiring

Well as some of you may know I installed a trailer hitch on my truck couple months ago(last owner took other one off) Well since then I have been just towing here and there with no trailer harness wiring. I got a hopkins 7 way connector http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...questid=180599
I also got a 4 way pigtail to wire in since I dont feel like spending 60.00 for the kit. So can anyone tell me which wire does what. Off the top of my head I think there is black, black with yellow tr,brown and then purple thats on the truck wiring. I just need to know which ones go to what on the 4 way. Other question is I have a brake controller in my truck(last owner left it) its a tekonsha voyager. I tested it awhile ago and its receiving power and its getting power from the brake switch but the blue wire going out has power all the time is it supposed to? and then there is a black wire which comes from the battery connected to a breaker and I know thats the aux power that goes to the plug. I think I have everything I need to get it to work right just not sure on the wiring for the 4 way and if the blue wire from the brake controller is supposed to have power all the time? I dont want to fry anything.

tail lights is pretty easy, look in your haynes. I did it the "right" way, I got the 4 pin standard tap ($30 from AZ) with the 7 pin (another $15), then used trailer taps to tap the 7 pin off of the 4 pin, that way I have both connections incase I need either/or. With a trailer brake, you will need a 7 pin.
