Default Aux fan keeps running

Yesterday, after driving about 40 minutes in 85 degree weather, got home and shut off the truck and the aux fan kept running. It ran for almost 30 minutes before I went out and disconnected the battery. Let it sit for a couple of minutes and then reconnected the battery and the fan came back on. disconnected and let it sit all night and in the morning reconnected and all seemed fine. Possible relay switch? Any ideas? If it's the relay, is that easy to replace?

Thanks!
Andy

If it is the control module for sure, you just have to find it and replace it. It's plug and play!!

My wife's Grand Caravan had a similar problem but her's was not turning on at all. I located the fan control module under the driver's side headlight. Got it from autozone for $39.00 and problem fixed!!!

Good Luck.....

Ok, thanks. I'll look for it. Another question...dumb maybe but is the engine fan supposed to be able to be turn by hand sorta easy? I rev'd the motor up and the fan doesn't look like it goes any faster than at idle.

The engine fan has a clutch which its job is to enguage the fan 100% when it gets to 210 I think thats the temp but when its not hot it will still spin but the clutch is not fully enguaged and there for it wont spin as fast as what the rpms are for.

Before you buy a new control module try swapping the relay with the one just beside it (I think it conrols the fog lights but might be wrong). It has the same numbers on it!

I had the exact same prolem and as soon as I swapped relays everything worked as it should. The relays are made to fail Closed, so that you still get a fan.
