Default exhaust question

I will need a new mufler sometime in the next 6 months. I've seen all the youtube vids & I have not yet decided on what muff I want to install, but I think I know how I want the pipes routed.

I'd like duals that exit in front of the rear wheels. Maybe a twin tip on each side.

My question is this - the fuel tank sits on the drivers side inside the frame rail - will running an exhaust pipe under this tank cause problems? Can you install a heat sheild? or insulation or something to prevent heating the fuel or the poly tank?

That is the only part that bothers me - I don't need a hole melted in my tank & then spill 20 gals of gas on a 1000 degree tail pipe.

just use some tin foil to cover the gas tank, or use heat wrap on the exhaust.

Or you can go with oldschool side pipes like mine and not have to worry abou it . Just think old school corvette they look awesome too that of course depends on if you're going to be going offroad.

Cool idea - but not really what I'm looking for. I like the idea of heat wrap though - or some type of heat shield under the gas tank.
