Default Shifting Problems

I've been driving for the last year and a half or so with this issue. Truck runs fine, shifts perfectly when I'm cruising or doing any highway driving, or give it up to 80~% throttle. The two concerns I have:

If I floor it off the start, the RPMs will go up to the redline, but then they bounce of the rev limiter and wont shift until I back off the gas a little. This happens between gear 1-2, I don't believe it happens between 2-3, but I'll double check. What would this be?

Second, when I'm flooring it after changing into second gear, it seems to shift around 3800-4100rpms(ish, ill double check again)into 3rd & 4th, just when it seems like the real power just kicked in, insted of bouncing off the redline like a few other vehicles I've owned. Is the only way to change this with a programmer?

Oh, anyone have any experience with a shiftkit? I tried searching for them but only came across ones for the 4.7L. What's it like to install one of these? are the benefits worth it?

Thanks guys

mine shifts at 4100 at WOT for all gears, with the V6.

Not sure on your 1-2, have to wonder if your TV cable hasn't stretched/in need of adjustment.

I think it's some sort of sensor.. Seems like an electronic issue, just not 100% sure

Our transmissions, for the most part, don't have any sensors. Shifting is controlled pretty much by the throttle valve cable and hydraulic pressure. Before my trans detonated, i had a neutral spot between 2 and 3 at partial throttle, and it was even bigger at WOT. Once I had it rebuilt (see: the planetaries and case were the only things salvagable), it shifts at 4100 WOT for all gears.
