The rear end is gone! The place working on it said it would be cheaper to just find the whole rear axle because labor to do the ring and pinion, spider gears, and bearings would cost a LOT ($55 an hour). The people I bought the truck said nothing was wrong with it and it seemed fine, but they were wrong or knew that something was wrong and didn't say anything. All else I'll just have to sell the truck as is and take a loss, sad thing is it's a very nice truck. We're just all pretty upset by all this because it was hard enough for me to afford the truck let alone buy a whole new rear axle. Too bad the lemon law don't apply to private part sales. Anyway, does anyone know what I could do? It's a 1997 Dodge Dakota V-6 Magnum and the gear ratio is 390. ANY help I can get I'd be very thankful for. Thanks all for your time.

www.dakota-durango.com all these have forums like this checkout the classified section
If you sell the truck as is you will practically give it away

Down here where i live i think theres a place called redline transmissions, that will take ur rear end and then give you a rebuilt one, you end up paying less b/c you gave them a core. not sure where you live but maybe theres a place over where you live like that
