Weird shutting off problem...need a little help?
HEY HAVE A 97 DODGE DAKOTA SPORT 5.9 4X4...RUNS GOOD, DOESNT BURN OIL(PLENUM GASKET WTF!!), NO CODES, AND ALREADY CLEANED THE IAC SENSOR(WAS DIRTY), BUT IT WAS TO STUMBLE AND SHUT OFF WHEN YOU GO INTO REVERSE WHILE TURNING AND THEN WHEN YOU STOP. IT DROPS IDLE AND SHUTS OFF,BUT STARTS BACK UP AND SOMETIMES WANTS TO SHUT BACK OFF.
I've had the problem with mine a time or two also took it into a shop, and they coudldn't figure anything out. My daytime driving lights started to stay on after I shut my truck off, and had to pull the relay. My keyless entry will zap my battery if i plug the fuse in, and it has a power drain somewhere or another, so if I don't drive my truck about every three days the battery is dead. I can't figure any of it out. eventually i'll either get it all fixed or say to hell with it and stick a 4-sale sign in the thing. It's an electrical nightmare. My cd players memory doesn't even keep place when i turn the truck off. it always starts at the end of the last song no matter where I was on the cd when I turned the truck off. The thing is an electrical nightmare.
check the short vac line on the front of the TB on the left side. its under the stock air hat, but once thats off you can see it plain as day. mine was dry rotten and it would leak vac... i had to use the gas and brake pedals as a clutch setup in an auto lol. and the friggin line is only like 1.5in long
