loud grinding noise in front end

Default loud grinding noise in front end

ive been hearing a loud repetitive grinding noise in the front driveline of my 4wd 4.7 dakota its got 110000miles on it its been offroad a couple times and a wicked front bumper mashing bout 2years ago me and my father just some new 85w-90 gear lubricant from walmart in the front differential and checked the cv joints in the halfshafts they do have between minor and major level of play in them just wondering how much are there allowed in cv joints

wow dude no offense but I didn't understand half of that paragraph. lol

CV joints shouldnt have any play - if there is play & you hear a grinding noise you have to replace them.
