What is it
I installed a aftermarket trailer hitch on my 2000 quad. At the rear of the frame there was a "pipe" mounted in rubber. It is some type vibration damper but what does it really do?

If it was a cross member it would be solid. This was mounted in rubber and would twist. When I removed it the rubber on one side came apart with a little force. I am sure there was a reason it was there.
