I recieved a 99 dodge dakota 3.9l without a transmission. I have since installed a new transmission and i have no clue where this sensor wire goes. It is located on the end of the transmission harness next to the oxygen senor it has a round blue center and is kinda squarish in shape.
I know this is kinda vague, but its the best i can do at the moment

Im thinking it might be for a speed sensor.

 

I though there were only two speed sensors. 1 at the tail shaft housing of the trans and the other in the rear end.

 

Oh sorry I thought you said at the end of the trans nevermind then lol but are you having any problems with the truck? There are a couple connectors on these trucks that go no where and I want to think I might also have a dead end by my cat ill go out and check.

I have nothing that ends by the cat only plug there is the one going to the o2 sensor there isnt even a harness over there then on my driver side there is a harness but that just goes to fuel pump lights and abs only harness that is close to my cat is the transfer case and thats for the 4x4 light.
