Default 2003 Dakota Auto Trans Shifting issue.

I have an 03 Dakota quad cab 4.7 with an automatic transmission. It seems like its not shifting right. Say i am doing 55 and i slow down to 15mph when i get back on the gas it does not down shift. If i shift into 2nd its great. If i come to a complete stop it's fine or if i floor it, it will down shift. It's killing my gas mileage and makes it really hard to drive feels like its lacking power and. Any info would be great.

Check the tranny fluid(if low use ATF-4 not Dexron-Mercon),Maybe a stopped up filter,Shift solenoid, and sometimes if your TPS is bad it can do some weird stuff to your shifts.I'm not a transmission expert so this is just some suggestions.
