I have a 2002 dakota 4x4 3.9 5 speed. It has the electronic 4 wheel drive shift. I was curious if I should be concerned that the little indicator light doesnt come on for 2wd, it will come on for 4hi and 4lo. It shifts perfectly from each position without any trouble at all.

 

If it shifts fine, I would assume it's fine. The light is obviously just an indicator since it's electronic. The light is most likely just out. If it bothers you, you probably need to buy that whole piece. Not sure how much it is, but I'm guessing its too much lol.
