Default 1999 dodge dakota leaf spring shim

Long story short, my truck gets no traction until I reach 15 MPH under medium acceleration. I was talking to some people and they think that leaf spring shims would solve the problem. But I know nothing about them, he recommended me to get no more than 4 degrees on the shims. So if you guys could, would this solve my problem? What are the advantages and disadvantages of shims? Where would I be able to purchase what I need and how do I install them? If you guys could help me out I'd be grateful. If you have a better suggestion I'm all ears

My truck is a 1999 dodge dakota slt ext. Cab 2wd 318l v8. It is the stock lift if that matters.

Nope. I have brand new tires that I put on a month ago. I thought about weights but I only get 11MPG as it is and that would hurt that. Oh also Ive been running my tires with only 28lbs of air in them. That's part of the reason for bad gas mileage. But I did it cause with the normal 32lbs I can spin them even at 20mph.

Bealive it or not thunder I've done it like 1 time that was like 15mph 2nd gear dont know how I did it was dry roads too, I have two witnesses lol but I cant do it now heck just sitting at a stop I used to be able to put it to the floor and it would squeel like crazy now for it to do it I need first and get it up to 1,000rpms. Its prob cause of my slowly failing tranny. lol

I've noticed after a lot of research that not many other Dakotas are capable like mine is. When I first bought the truck the oil hadn't been changed in a while, the plugs were burnt out to over 80 gap and it ran rough. When I would stomp it I wouldn't spin a bit. But since I've tuned it up, plugs, plug wires, oil change. Oil filter. Distributor cap it has gained a ton of power. As far as I know the truck has everything stock minus the gutted cat I cut off a Month ago. It doesn't have any add one I can see so idk. I just know I can't catch traction and it sucks on wet roads. I'm also running 2 size bigger tires than the factory says.
