Default Rough Idle

I have been having a problem for about 3 weeks now. Every once in a while my 2002 Dodge Dakota Ext. Cab, will start to rough idle, around 500-600 RPM, and almost stall. I rev the engine for a minute and it goes back to normal around 850 RPM. I was needing my 30,000 mile tune up, so I thought it would be taken care of with the tune up, but it wasn't. I find that it is only happening in the afternoon commute home because I have a lot of stop and go traffic. Yesterday I decided to get a bottle of Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner and give that a try, seems better, but it has only been a day.

Has anyone else had problems like this? What should I be looking into? I am pretty good with my hands but don't know what I should be trouble shooting first.

Thanks,

Andy

Default RE: Rough Idle

My 91 with the 3.9 did this, and I just used cleaned the throttle body with some carb and choke cleaner and it did the trick. Hope it works for you.
