Default 4WD making a nasty noise...HELP!!!!???!!!

first off im new to the forum so just wanted to say hey guys and thanks!...now my issue...i have a 2001 dodge dakota QC 4x4 4.7L. Truck runs great in 2wd, smooth just put brand new front hubs on both sides last week...first snow hit today so i went to use the 4wd for the first time since i bought the truck and immediately upon engaging it i hear a nasty clunking/ really loud clicking noise that just sounds HORRIBLE!!! its increases as speed does and when i stop the truck is a bi**ch to get back into 2wd i have to reverse turn whatnot....any ideas guys? im hoping something simple and not a t case

yeah i had the same symptoms. 2wd was perfect but 4wd was bad. its uaslly the cv joint on the tcase side b.c the ujoint on the front diff side is stronger. or ujoints are stronger than cj joint.
here is the cj joint on the tcase side. there should be a rubber cover think but as u can see mine was ripped. and dirt got in there and the bearings were all dry and rock filled.

new drive shaft. get one with ujoints on both sides. about 200-250 on ebay. or find a dakota in a junkyard and pull that one if you are in a money pinch.
