My truck did this and i found it to be the AIS or automatic idle speed motor. Mine is located at the rear of the air intake body on my 5.2L. It is an easy replacement with a wire and two Torx screws that hold it in. If you don't have a manual i would suggest you get one as it will tell you how exactly how to replace it. The Haines manual is cheep and has good info for most repairs. The part isn't very expensive. Good luck.
