vehicle- 97 Dodge dakota extended cab automatic

I just bought 6 1/2 inch pioneer speakers with a new radio. Does anyone know if 6 1/2 inch speakers will fit where the old speakers are located? And if so do I need to take the entire door panel off to install speakers? Is it better to solder the speaker wires?

Yes, 6.5" speakers will fit in the door, and yes, the entire door panel has to come off in order to fit the speakers in the stock locations.

 

You can also go to Best Buy or any good car audio shop and buy a pair of speaker harness plugs for your truck that will plug right in to the factory speaker wire connector in the door. This will take the guesswork out of which wire is positive and negative and it will eliminate the need for soldering.
