I know alot of you say if your gonna swap the 3.9 out, put a 5.9 in, well I have had a 5.2 GIVEN to me, its out of a 96 1/2 ton, rebuilt and put in the truck but never ran. My question is, will my 42RE survive behind the V8? It has had a fresh rebuild on it, and I will replace the torque convertor out when I swap motors, and I know I will need to add a new computer and add in the fuel injector lines as well. What do you think? Should be a nice improvment over the V6

 

Doubt it Im pretty sure the 42's were only behind v6's. Might last as long as your not to hard on it.

 

I was afraid of that...just have to collect all of my parts for a manual tranny swap I guess.
