thermostat housing still leaking

Default thermostat housing still leaking

i have a 2000 dakota sport 4.7L V8, i have replaced the t-stat and housing, but still leaks i have tryed the gasket in a tube and a cork gasket, neither one worked, going to try a silicone gasket maker. any advice?

Have you checked the housing to make sure it isnt cracked?

i have, i just recently replaced the housing because it was cracked, i am going to put silocone gasket maker on it in the mornig and hopefully that will stop the leak, if not do you have any other suggestions

did you not get a fiber or rubber gasket for it? There should be one there and you RTV it to the housing itself. The thermostat gasket part number at Autozone is 35692.

i was givin a little tube that said thermostat gasket on it, im not sure what kind of gasket it was

Just get rtv gasket maker its like 7.00 at autoparts store thats what I used on mine and you sure the housing is leaking and not the hose connected to it?

im not 100% sure that its not the hose as well but i am sure that the housing is still leaking
