Default Oil Pressure Gauge Moving

I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7 V8, (first dodge i have owned) I just got the oil changed yesterday and noticed on my way home that the oil pressure gauge is moving around between the lowest normal reading to the highest normal reading but never going into the critical range. When I am idling at a light it is at the lowest normal and then I am driving it tops out at the highest normal. I just got this truck about a week ago and did not notice it doing this before although it may have been, so I just was wondering if anyone knows if this is normal or if I am starting to see the beginning of a problem.

I have read a lot of different answers online and they all seem to differ, I am hoping I can get some good answers. Thanks!

Double check your oil level, it may be off. I will move this to the 2nd Generation Dakota Sub-Forum.

What oil did you put in? Mine will start to move a little when my oil has been in for more than 3,500 miles. I always run vavoline 10w-30 synblend. A lot of the time it does it on vehicles because of age and wear. My jeeps done it for as long as I remember it only has 216k on it tho.

Mine is usually right below the upper line at highway speeds (~2000 r/min). I haven't noticed what it is at idle lately though. It's always going to move though. Your oil pump runs off your engine so as the rpms change the amount of pressure will change.

its normal to move but if it is low at idle your pump might be getting tired. the more pressure you have the better lubrication you are getting

Mine just started moving a few weeks ago. Previously it stayed just below the top line. Now, it's still just below the top line when I'm running but when stopped it drops to the middle line. Did an oil change, but it's still doing it...
