Default Hooking Up PA System?

vehicle- 97 Dakota 5.2 V8 automatic

I recently bought a Pa system for my truck and I can't decide where to wire it up. I thought about wiring it directly to the battery but the problem is I got to setup a turn off switch and need to run the wires into the cab. So where do you guys think I should wire the PA system?

thanks

Ahhh I want to get one so badly. But I did wire some fog lights right to the battery and ran a toggle switch into the cab. There is a hole where some other stuff comes through, I just took a coat hanger and pulled the wires through. I am not sure about the 1 gens, but I bet if you look around a little bit you can find somewhere to run the wires through and get whatever kind of switch you want. I still haven't mounted the switch properly but it works fine.

I got it wired up in my 97 Dakota next to the battery and decided that I'm going rewire it so it plugs into the cigarette lighter.

The guy in this video has the same one I just bought. pretty good for its size

Personally I never run directly off of the battery to a switch and back to what I want powered up. I use a relay and keep the main battery power under the hood area. Find something hot in the cab that turns off with the ignition, run from there to your switch in the cab. Then run from the cab through the fire wall to the relay. Run a hot wire from the battery to the relay. Run from the relay to what you want powered up. Ground the relay. Just be care full to hook the wires on to the relay properly. Make sure to fuse between the battery and relay. You can also fuse between the hot wire in the cab and the switch if you want. Also watch your wire sizes compared to the power they will be carrying. It will take very little current/power to switch/make the relay, hence, a smaller wire can be used making it easier to get through the fire wall. The wire from the battery to the relay and the relay to what you are powering will have to be larger due to the higher current draw on them. Good luck.
