Default used 2002 dakota questions

Okay its been a long time sinse i posted but i am now looking at a 2002 dakota 4.7 4x4 quad cab pickup. My questions are these at 132,000 is about 8k too much? It looks very clean and my current car is slowly falling apart and if i jump on this one i can trade it in and get a bit more off. Is their anythign i should look for as far as issues? I am going to be getting a new job soon and to get financed on this i have to move soon. I looked around and it seems the dif in mpg in the v6 is very little and i would prefer to 4x4 as well i want to do some 4x4 stuff so i want it.
Any tips would be great ie check for sludge under the oil cap and rear diff noises and or pings.

Thanks in advance

ive got 130,xxx on mine, its had its share of problems but i wouldn't want to turn you away from buying it. check ball joints and other suspension components, make sure 4x4 works and isn't noisy. make sure its not throwing any codes. make sure the trans isnt slipping. oil cap wont tell you much, i pulled my valve covers off when i did my cam swap and i use full synth oil and the valvetrain looked near mint.

things that went out on me was: pcm, front driveshaft, fuel pump, headgasket, all break components, shocks.

Thanks for the tips and the oil cap thing was from a jeep liberty i was looking at with a light engine tapping. I was familiar with the dodges a few years ago but wanted to make sure nothign has really changed or any new issues that have popped up.

Thanks again i will seee how much he is willing to move on this truck and try and talk him down a bit. I have checked around in my area and it seems to be priced about right but if i can save a few hundred bucks i am all for talking him down.
