yeah i gotcha there's not much sense it to do that on an aging truck and motor

That and the fact that if you were to swap a manual into a r/t then i would assume that you would want something more sporty than the nv3500. Maybe try to get a corvette trans to fit or maybe a mustang, you know somnething with better gearing that could really transfer the power to the tires for even more no traction fun lol vrmmm vrmmmm

Personally, i LOVE my 4.7, 5 speed. I wouldn't trade it for an auto if my life depended on it!

+1000. I drove an auto for about one year of my life and hated it lol.

I recently picked up a 2006 Dakota with the 4.7L and a 6 speed manual trans to go along with my RT. R/T gets parked in the winter so Ill drive the 2006 through the winter months.
