I agree completely. I would much rather have a mechanical lever on the floor than a wimpy little TV dial on the dash. The electronic setup is more complex (i.e., more that can go wrong) in two ways; the electronics/logic required to run it, and the addition of a shift motor in the transfer case.

Also, a shift lever looks better IMO (I especially like the looks of dual levers on the floor, as with a manual transmission and mechanical-shift 4WD). I feel gypped that my truck is one year too new to have 4WD shifting implemented in the simple, reliable, tried and true manner; as opposed to the Soccer Mom™ manner. Being stuck with Soccer Mom™ front suspension (i.e., IFS) on nearly every 4WD made in the past ~25 years is bad enough.

Yeah all the electrical crap is stupid. I love that I can pull a lever back and I know im in 4wd lol
