Default Performance Chips

I have a 01 Dodge Dakota CC with 4.7 and automatic. Will a performance chip help improve the efficiency and mileage? If so, which one is the best? Thanks

Superchips has 4 tunes that you can load onto the computer, performance 93, 87 (for use with 87 octane fuel), towing, and mileage xs. I saw about 1mpg increase with the mileage xs. But the best way to see an improvement imo is to switch to a truck with a 5 speed. The chips are great for power and torque increases, but when it comes down to it there isn't. Much you can do to divert the thirst of a v8.

I have a 2004 dakota with the 4.7 V8
I have the stage 1 jet chip, K&N filter and the 80mm throttle body along with gibson headders and dual exhaust from the cat back. Overall the mileage went from 12mpg city to 15mpg city and to 20-21 highway. I did notice an increase from the jet chip and K&N filter alone. 20-21 highway for a V8 i think is pretty sweet if you ask me
The increase in torque and pickup is crazy , i had to learn how to take off from a dead stop without roasting the tires. Also keeping your foot from being buried to the firewall when your truck sounds that so mean is difficult too. :>)

Good luck

well, i loved the addition of my tb. its just a great supporting mod. one peice of the puzzle. the more performance mods you have the more you will feel it. check out fastmantb. easy as hell to install. about 15 minutes. take off the old one held in my 3 8mm bolts and swap the sensors and you are ready to go. with you massive tires it will probably feel a little peppier. sounds better thats for sure. any other q's let me know.

What about fuel Effiency?.? (Sorry to steal thread) I havnt really thought about an aftermarket TB... Yeah, With a Chip, CAI im sure this thing will breath real well..

I would go headers, But heard they arn't really worth it on the 47. Plus I'm real content with the setup i got now, she's pretty free flowin if ya kno what i mean. lol thanks for the url bud.
