Default 3" Body lift please help Newbie

I have a 2001 4x4 crew cab. I want to purchase a body lift for it and then raise the torsion bars and put blocks in the rear. Hopefully reaching 5 inches of lift. What lift do you guys recommend and where should i get it? And can you explain how to tighten the front torsion bar? And where can i get 2" blocks for the rear? Also will i need to replace the shocks and if so what do you guys recommend? thanks for the help

You can find any ol Torsion key kit on ebay for a couple hundred bucks, IT should come with 2" blocks for the rear also... IMO You really dont need the blocks, the keys will jack the font up level wit the rear i found. TO tighten them, There's 1 bolt for each torsion bar, Follow the torsion Bars to the end then you should see the bolts im talking about. Put the truck on a plain ground and Tighten them to your desired amount... once you start tightning them you will notice your ride will start to stiffen up...ALOT. I had alot of problems with this lift, Mainly I was snapping shock bolt heads off the shock bolts clean off leaving the shoulder of the bolt in the control arm.I'm not fussy for these lifts, but it allows for 33's.

Also, you'll need new shocks for Torsion keys, The stock shocks are too small for the added lift. You'll reach about 5.5" with a total of a 3"body lift and a 2.5" torsion key lift. But im just warning, you might snap shock bolts.. i know many that had this problem with the single shock bolt.. Easy fix, Just irratating.

For shocks i just used Skyjackers7000, i had to Grove out some of conrtol arm as the shock itself is a little beefier then stock shocks.

hope this helps.

body lift i would get the most obvious one, Performance Accessories, i would also buy the blocks, i saw a dakota with the three inch body the t bars cranked and 2 inch blocks under the rear and he squeezed a set of 34's on it and it looked so nice. so imo i would go with all three. I got blocks when i had my old s10 off of jegs so i think they have it but i would check like summit racing first.

Weird, i found with the blocks on the rear, the rear was noticeably Higher then the front even with aftermarket TBS maxxed out. I found the ride was ****, it couldn't handle the offroad at all, harsh. personally I'd just do a Body lift and ride 33's

I know it's opinion, I ran aftermarket keys and blocks and a BL with 33's.. From personal experience I'd rather just run the BL and the 33's. Torsion keys were junk, they pretty much threw me at the wall for a SAS.

Actually, i found it an addiction...LOL, Once I started Lifting With the Bl i couldn't stop LOL. I went from Stock, To a 3" Body lift to a 3"BL W/torsion keys and blocks... now to a SAS with 37's, But room to fit 39's.

i have a cat back set up and it sounds perfect. and the body lift is pretty much simple, i didnt do myn but i have done them before, only difficulty i think was if you have a 4x4 the shifter part was the only trouble but not bad

With a BodyLift make sure you got a good jack lol. As for the shifter, i never had any problems with it. Jacked the truck up...slowly and slid the blocks in and drop. pretty much plain and simple just long.
