Default Hurst test....

Finally got it back from UPS...retards.

Got the console out, and old cover off. I see a bolt backed out on top of the trans housing. Thanks dealer certified morons...But, the good news is it lasted 7 years there...ha! Anyway, clean it up and then take the old one out...Ill see if it fits. I sure hope so! Before/after this evening...

Thanks Dealership...

Yep...Mods to make fit were not nearly complete. I had to extract some spacers, drill holes, coutersink(ugly as anything), and then fab up a spacer out of aluminum. It is pretty smooth now, and ended up disassembling the entire shifter. Need to lube and seal. For now, driving around precariously...stupid carpool failure...pics to come, I swear...

glad it worked out for you almost haha and I figured you'd need the spacer since the hursts are for the 97-00's. I guess they never took the time with the mid model interior change to redo the shifter for the later years. I'll stay tuned for the pics and ps I'm jealous of your 16's haha your truck looks awesome!

Well, the odd part is, its listed as an NV3500 compatability. The spacer is between the shifter housing, and the trans. Should be indifferent to the vehichle. Not really keen on that issue. Basically the ball sat too far in the socket that rides on the shift rail. Gave it a nice feel, almost like pseudo-gated pattern. Way too stiff tho. Anyway, I will prob do that tonight...hopefully the Victory i'll be consuming doenst get the better of me first...Damn you Golden Monkey!!!

And thanks...I think I'll get her dirty this weekend if I can button up the seal and everything tonight...Test out the Duratracs...

I have been looking for that shifter for a while now and still can't seem to find one for my 97 2wd. Can you tell me the model # or who supplies these?

Amazon had one a few weeks ago. I found a few numbers. one was ending in 40, another in 55. I have to call Hurst to find a few things out. or, get a better template made and sucker a guy into waterjetting me a spacer.
