I did my fuel pump the bed off way I did it by myself but I used a come a long hooked to the steel beam of my garage and then I just lifted the bed off. Also I called napa, autzone and advanced to see what pumps they had then I went online and found the cheapest one doesnt matter as long as its the same brand and is brand new all you have to do is bring in a picture of it and price and they will price match it. I got mine at autozone for 136.00

Default 5.2L key cycle 3-5 times before start

Just read the thread. I have the same issue on my '99 1500 5.2.
Tank r&r isn't that bad and I was able to locate a new replacement pump at www.autopartswarehouse.com for $99.00.
I get to do mine this week. Hope it all goes well for you!

By the way, if you want the fuel pressure regulator replacement procedure, send me an email to thomasnutting@gmail.com and I'll send you the pages from my .pdf manual.

For clarification:
The fuel pump assembly I found is currently selling for $99.54 at autopartswarehouse.com and the Fuel Filter/Pressure Regulator (problem source) is selling for $120.91 at the same place.

I have a crappy little electric hoist from Harbor Freight in my garage that I used to lift my bed off my truck. I think I paid $89.00 for it like five years ago and it's still going strong.
