Default Floor shifter talk

So...lately I've really been thinking about having a floor shifter. Apparently all I need is a cable operated shifter and I'd be golden.

However...now comes the "Which shifter?" question comes into play. My idea is having it in the tray in the center console where the stock manual shifter are. I want to keep my cup holders, and as well as the storage.

I've been looking at the Hurst truck Pro-Matic 2 shifter. My brother installed the normal short stick version on his '71 Chevelle...it's pretty cool:

The only thing that I'm over-thinking about is having it fit, and not having the stick get in the way of the dash.

I actually prefer the column shifter for an automatic, but it would be cool. I see it on R/t's quite often.

Ahh, that guy has a 2003. Would be perfect but my design is different Cup holders are all in the middle where the storage is, which makes it hard.

I like to play with 1st and 2nd gear a lot, so it would be nice to have a good feel of the shifts =P
