NP244 problem
Hi all,
I swapped an NP244 transfer case in to my 01 Dakota sometime in the fall and it hasn't given me any trouble until now.
The AWD seems to work fine, the problem is that when I go to switch it in to 4hi it doesn't lock up the differential in the transfer case. The same thing happens with 4lo. The gears change and I am definitely in low range, but the front and rear axles aren't locked together.
Transfer case fluid is fresh clean ATF +4 and it isn't making any strange sounds or turning the "SERVICE 4WD" light on. I just don't know where to start.
Ideas?
