Default Body side moldings

What do you guys use for body side moldings? My '04 Sport Club Cab already has a couple of tiny dings and I want to make sure it doesn't get any worse.

Years ago I would just go to a Trim-Line dealer, they would cut aluminum track to fit, rivet it on, then thread in a thick, rubber/vinyl insert. The insert absorbed most impacts, but if some jerk really whanged you with his door, the aluminum track would usually protect the sheet metal from damage. Worst case, you replaced that one section of track, which was easy and cheap.

Unfortunately, Trim-Line seems to have gone out of business. I don't want to go with the cheap plastic stick-on stuff...any ideas for an alternative?

Thanks! Carl
