Alright so I didn't notice how bad the lower half of my truck was when I bought it but this is the second time I've washed it since I've had it and wow...its covered in little black dots. No matter how hard I press against and and try scrubbing it off with the rag/sponge I'm using it wont really come off. Some do but then it smears. Anyone got something they use that works miracles or recommend?

Keep in mind there are no car washes around here so it's all hand washed unless I bite the bullet and buy a super overpriced pressure sprayer that I don't want to buy.

 

ive got the same thing but since i have a black truck you cant see it. sorry no help here. rubbing clay thing might work.

 

My brother used to work on a road crew and he always swore by diesel fuel. If fuel isn't available try purple power. I've heard that both work really well.

 

Purple power works to some extent but only on the newer stuff. If its like been on there for a year no it prob wont come off. I use purple power on my truck all the time and works well just make sure its washed off all the painted areas cause it will start to eat the clear. Another thing to try is mean green I dont know if you can use on painted surfaces(read the bottle first) We use it at work on all the lawn equiptment(decks and buckets) and it gets all the grass stains and dirt off easily.

 

Thanks for the tips, I know my grandpa used to use kerosene back in the day because it would shine a car like no other, wonder if it cleans as well. I might try the diesel fuel in a small area as a test and see how that works. I'll check out purple power as well. Im pretty sure its been sitting for over a year but I'll still try.

Dodgeramguy85 you guys ever use simple green? We use it on the boat all the time- only because its environmentally friendly.

 

Lacquer thinner on a rag, i used this on all kinds of cars at a body shop to remove overspray. Only on older paint not on fresh soft paint. I'm sure many people would be affraid to use lacquer thinner on their paint job so you can test it out on the underside somewhere. Another product that would probably work is goo gone.

 

Try WD40.

 

Lighter fluid works well for me. Been using it for years.
